About the role

We are looking for a Staff QA Engineer to lead quality engineering for DDN Horizon Control. This senior individual contributor will shape test strategy, build automation frameworks, and ensure release quality for a cloud‑native system built with Go, Kubernetes, NATS, PostgreSQL and event‑driven workflows.

Key responsibilities

  • Review architecture and API designs to identify quality risks early.
  • Define test coverage, automation strategy, quality gates and release readiness criteria.
  • Design, implement and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Go, Godog, Gherkin, Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and ensure coverage for critical business workflows.
  • Validate distributed system behavior, including authentication, RBAC, multi‑tenant isolation, event delivery and resiliency.
  • Drive performance, scalability, stress and longevity testing using k6, JMeter and Go benchmarks.
  • Mentor engineers on test design, debugging and quality engineering practices.

Required profile

  • 12+ years of software quality engineering experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Go, Python or Java.
  • Hands‑on experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Proven experience testing distributed, cloud‑native or microservices architectures.
  • Excellent debugging, root‑cause analysis and communication skills.
