Sr. Manager Data Governance

About the role

Chalhoub Group's Capability Hub, its technology and innovation hub, is hiring a Sr. Manager Data Governance in Bangalore. The role leads enterprise data governance across the Group, covering policies, stewardship, master data standards, compliance and data quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data governance, establish data policies, stewardship frameworks and master data Golden Record standards, and enforce compliance, access controls and data lineage across GCP and SAP architectures.
• Define and enforce master data management (SAP MDM) standards, including reference data and the business glossary.
• Enforce data compliance and privacy (PDPL, GDPR), including access controls, role-based access (Looker RBAC) and security classification.
• Own data cataloging and lineage using UpGuard, ensuring end-to-end traceability.
• Set data quality standards (freshness, completeness, validity, schema drift), quality SLAs and scorecards, with oversight of automated and AI-assisted monitoring.
• Define onboarding playbooks for new data sources, data products and BI assets, and set documentation standards (dbt Cloud Docs).
• Partner with business, IT and security teams, report on compliance, quality coverage and adoption to leadership, and mentor governance practitioners.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in data governance, data management or enterprise data quality, including leading governance initiatives.
• Deep expertise in data governance frameworks, stewardship, business glossary, reference data and master data management.
• Experience defining data quality dimensions, SLAs, scorecards, stewardship and onboarding playbooks.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PDPL, GDPR, access controls, security classification and data lineage.
• Hands-on experience with UpGuard, Looker RBAC and dbt Cloud Docs.
• Proficiency in SQL and Google BigQuery, governing data across GCP and SAP architectures.
