Sr Director, Solutions Engineering

About the role

NetApp is looking for a Sr Director, Solutions Engineering in Bangalore. The Area SE Senior Director partners with the Area VP, the Geo SE Leader and SE Directors to shape strategy and ensure execution, building a future-ready SE organisation while balancing local and global priorities. The role shares accountability with the Area VP for business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical execution and business impact: prioritise customer, partner and business outcomes, improve architecture quality and opportunity management, and drive adoption of NetApp's AI and Intelligent Data Infrastructure.
• Build a future-ready organisation: develop technical talent and leadership, strengthen succession, close capability gaps and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Partner with sales leadership and the Area VP on strategy, go-to-market efforts and technology transformation.
• Translate customer, partner, competitive and market data, including AI use cases, into recommendations for portfolio, product, enablement and go-to-market decisions.
• Represent the area in executive engagements, partner ecosystems and industry forums, and advocate for customer, partner and resource needs.
• Lead organisational transformation and experiment to evolve SE capabilities, culture and operating models.
• Work with the GEO SE Leader and SE Directors to set standards, share capabilities and ensure consistent execution.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive technical leadership in enterprise infrastructure, AI, cloud, data management, storage or adjacent markets, including leading and scaling pre-sales or Solutions Engineering organisations.
• Senior leadership experience in Solutions Engineering, Presales, Technical Sales or Enterprise Technology within a global technology organisation.
• Executive customer engagement, customer transformation and strategic account leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced business or technical qualifications preferred.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure, AI, Intelligent Data Infrastructure, Hybrid Multicloud, Cybersecurity and Data Management technologies.
• Ability to turn technology strategy into business outcomes and to influence product direction and go-to-market strategy.
• Exceptional communication, executive presence and talent leadership capabilities.
