Specialist – Service Charging & Data Analysis (Digitalization)

About the role

The Specialist for Digitalization in Service Charging and Data Analysis supports BASF’s Global Digital Services unit by ensuring accurate monthly service charging and driving data‑driven improvements. You will act as a trusted advisor to management and internal customers, bridging finance and IT to optimise charging processes.

Key responsibilities

• Advise management and internal customers on service charging for Global Digital Services and related units.
• Ensure monthly service charging by operating and developing the supporting system landscape.
• Coordinate, execute and troubleshoot the global monthly service charging process.
• Communicate with key stakeholders across Controlling to guarantee timely charging.
• Identify optimisation opportunities in charging, processes and systems, propose and implement improvements.
• Support strategic initiatives and special projects related to service charging.

Required profile

• Degree in business informatics, data modelling, ERP, controlling or a comparable qualification.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a pronounced affinity for numbers.
• Experience translating business requirements into program code.
• Professional background in controlling/accounting, preferably internal service charging.

Required skills

• SQL and PL/SQL, Oracle database expertise.
• BI tools and data‑analysis software.
• Linux shell scripting.
• Web services, Java, NetBeans, KAFKA and modern programming languages.
• Complex SQL query writing and optimisation.
