Software Tool Developer – VS Code Extensions & DSL

About the role

We are seeking a Software Tool Developer to create and maintain developer productivity tools and language tooling for Bosch’s Global Software Technologies. The role focuses on building VS Code extensions and domain‑specific languages (DSLs) using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js, helping product teams streamline their workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and publish VS Code extensions with features such as syntax highlighting, code completion, hover, go‑to‑definition, rename, formatting, diagnostics and quick fixes.
• Define and evolve DSLs using Langium or similar workbenches, including grammar, AST models, parsers, validators and serializers.
• Generate artefacts from DSL models (configuration files, documentation, code stubs, JSON/YAML outputs).
• Integrate tooling into CI/CD pipelines, build CLI utilities and automation scripts for validation and compilation.
• Write unit and integration tests, maintain code quality through reviews and static analysis, and produce developer documentation and quick‑start guides.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing VS Code extensions with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with DSL engineering, preferably using Langium or comparable frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and ability to create automation scripts.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with product teams, architects and domain experts.
