Software Methods and Quality Engineer

About the role

The Avionics Software department of Airbus India is seeking a Software Methods and Quality Engineer to ensure that critical avionics software meets certification standards and quality expectations. You will work closely with development teams, quality managers, and certification authorities to support the delivery of safe, reliable software for Airbus aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance and technical sampling of avionics software deliverables in line with DO-178B/ED-12 objectives.
• Provide technical support for software processes, methods, and tools used by development teams.
• Manage EASA certification activities for avionics software and maintain certification documentation.
• Continuously improve software development methods and quality processes.
• Verify consistency, completeness, and accuracy of software quality documents, source code, test files, and lifecycle data.
• Approve software documents against applicable plans and certification rules.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of software anomalies and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain and update the Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC) and ensure conformity of the Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQAP).

Required profile

• Experience in embedded software development, including specification, architecture design, coding, testing, and integration.
• Hands‑on experience with critical real‑time embedded software projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of applying DO‑178B/ED‑12 standards on a project.
• Strong autonomy, teamwork spirit, and willingness to become a method‑quality specialist.
