Software Engineer (SDE-2) – Platform Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer (SDE‑2) to join SolarWinds’ Platform Engineering team. You will help build and evolve the core platform services that enable product innovation across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software components and services.
• Deliver well‑scoped features, enhancements and bug fixes with high quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Write and maintain unit and automated tests to ensure stable releases.
• Troubleshoot production defects and implement durable fixes.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and fellow engineers to deliver customer‑focused solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering experience (full‑time, internship or equivalent).
• Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, Go or Python.
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms and object‑oriented design.
• Experience with version control, debugging, testing and modern development practices.
• Familiarity with APIs, databases and distributed application fundamentals.
• Ability to break down tasks, estimate effort and deliver quality code with limited supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
