Software Engineer – SDE-2

About the role

Flipkart is looking for an SDE-2 Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable features that power its e‑commerce platform. You will work on multiple technology components, ensuring code quality, reliability, and performance at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into detailed designs, break down projects into tasks, and provide accurate estimates.
• Write modular, extensible, readable, and high‑performance code following best practices.
• Select appropriate data structures, tools, and tech stacks, and contribute to high‑level design with guidance.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.

Required profile

• B.Tech, M.Tech or equivalent with at least 3 years of professional experience.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented design, separation of concerns, and abstraction.
• Experience working in agile environments and with CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to handle complex business flows and large data volumes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one language: Java, Ruby, Clojure, Scala, C, C++, or SQL.
• Object‑oriented programming.
• Multithreading and concurrency.
• Data structures and algorithm design.
• Agile development practices.
• Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Building robust, scalable web applications.
