Software Engineer, Mobile (Android)

About the role

Google is looking for a Software Engineer focused on mobile (Android) to join its Payments team. You will help build and improve consumer payment technologies and the underlying money‑movement infrastructure that powers Google services worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Write product or system development code for Android applications.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• Review code written by other developers and provide feedback on style, testability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content, updating it as the product evolves.
• Triage product or system issues, debug, and resolve problems affecting hardware, network, or service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
• Minimum 2 years of Android application development experience.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: Experience with data structures, algorithms, accessible technologies, and mobile development on Android/iOS.
