Software Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Software Engineer to design, prototype, and develop moderately complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices. You will work on common software modules used across multiple products and collaborate with internal and external customers to deliver reliable, high‑performance code.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and develop software solutions for semiconductor equipment.
• Create reusable software modules and libraries for multiple product lines.
• Produce software documentation and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot moderately difficult software issues and implement bug fixes.
• Interact with customers to gather requirements, define project schedules, and resolve technical problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Mathematics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in C++, operating systems, networking principles, algorithms, and multi‑threading.
• Strong conceptual understanding of software engineering with a willingness to expand capabilities.
• Awareness of key business drivers in the semiconductor industry.
