Software Engineer

About the role
L&T is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, test, and maintain embedded software for complex real-time systems. The role involves working with a range of operating systems and communication protocols to deliver reliable solutions for customer sites.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement tools that accelerate software development and debugging.
- Participate in troubleshooting and fixing issues reported from customer installations.
- Analyze system scalability, interworking problems and perform root‑cause analysis.
- Develop built‑in diagnostics and test code to improve reliability and supportability.
- Create and maintain distributed architecture components with inter‑process communication.
- Implement communication over physical layers such as Serial, Ethernet, 1553, CAN, NMEA and ModBus.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of C and C++ programming.
- Experience with Linux, VxWorks and QNX operating systems.
- Proficiency in multi‑threaded and multi‑process development environments.
- Excellent analytical, integration and debugging abilities.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
