Software Engineer

About the role

Blackhawk Network is seeking a Software Engineer to help build the next‑generation high‑volume transaction processing platform. The role involves designing, developing, testing and deploying scalable services in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high‑volume, fault‑tolerant transaction processing system.
• Perform the full software development lifecycle: design, code, test, and deploy.
• Own end‑to‑end development of components and features using Java, NodeJS, JavaScript and SQL.
• Design and implement APIs and back‑end services (REST, middleware).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and research new technologies.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure software quality.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to deliver high‑quality releases.
• Support information security analysis and remediation.
• Troubleshoot customer issues and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of professional experience in object‑oriented and functional software engineering.
• Experience building back‑end services and integrating APIs.
• Experience with relational databases, especially SQL and Postgres.
• Experience working in a cloud environment.
