Software Engineer II – Google Ads

About the role

Google Ads is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain high‑impact software solutions that power advertising products used by billions worldwide. You will join a fast‑moving team, collaborate across the full stack, and help shape the future of online advertising.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient product or system development code.
• Review peer code, provide feedback, and enforce best practices.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content, updating it as products evolve.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues, analyzing impacts on hardware, network, or service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience.
• Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience developing accessible technologies is a plus.
