Software Engineer II – Decision Management

About the role

Mastercard’s Decision Management Program is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Pune team. You will help build real‑time, intelligent decision‑making services that power digital payments worldwide, while mentoring junior team members and staying hands‑on with code.

Key responsibilities

• Drive quality engineering practices and embed testing into the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with developers to design, implement and automate test and release processes.
• Develop and maintain Java application logic using Spring and related frameworks.
• Create high‑level and detailed design documentation.
• Participate in all Scrum ceremonies and manage your own tasks to meet project goals.
• Write comprehensive unit tests with JUnit and mocking frameworks.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.

Required profile

• Experienced software professional passionate about innovative technology.
• Ability to plan test strategies and define acceptance criteria focused on functional, non‑functional and user‑experience needs.
• Hands‑on mindset with a drive for quality automation and self‑service culture.
• Strong communication skills across engineers, program managers and product managers.
