Software Engineer – Hybrid

About the role

LinkedIn is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Productivity Engineering team. You will help design, build, and maintain large‑scale, user‑centric services that power core business processes. The role is hybrid, combining remote work with occasional office days.

Key responsibilities

• Scale distributed applications and make architectural trade‑offs using synchronous and asynchronous patterns.
• Develop high‑volume, 24x7 reliable backend services and APIs (REST/gRPC) with a focus on performance and simplicity.
• Implement robust data persistence and caching strategies (SQL, NoSQL, Redis) and optimize queries for scale.
• Write unit‑tested, code‑reviewed software and integrate it continuously.
• Ensure observability through logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, incident response, and post‑mortem analysis.
• Identify and promote engineering productivity improvements.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to align technical solutions with product and business goals.

Required profile

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, OOP, and design patterns.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.

Required skills

• REST and gRPC API development.
• SQL and NoSQL databases, including Redis.
• Unit testing and continuous integration practices.
• Observability tools: logging, metrics, tracing.
• Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous design patterns.
