Software Engineer (DevOps) – Real Time Payments

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Software Engineer with a DevOps focus to support its Real Time Payments platform. You will design, develop, test and maintain secure, scalable software solutions that enable fast, reliable digital transactions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, implement and document application software in line with Mastercard standards and best practices.
• Research and evaluate alternative technical solutions, perform feasibility studies and create detailed system flowcharts.
• Participate in production incident management, on‑call pager support rotation and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Contribute to the improvement of development standards, processes and metrics reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in software engineering, preferably with exposure to DevOps or real‑time payment systems.
• High‑energy, detail‑oriented, proactive and able to work independently under pressure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a matrix‑based, geographically distributed team.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of software engineering concepts, methodologies and development best practices.
• Experience with programming, testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of application software.
