Software Engineer – Control Path & Quality (Data Ocean)

About the role

DDN is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Data Ocean engineering team, focusing on control plane services and software quality initiatives. The role involves building reliable control‑path components that enable platform orchestration, configuration management, and monitoring across distributed storage services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain control‑plane services and management APIs for the Data Ocean platform.
• Create workflows for caching, data movement, configuration management and platform lifecycle activities.
• Implement monitoring, telemetry and operational capabilities to improve system visibility and reliability.
• Develop automated testing frameworks for functional, integration, regression and system‑level validation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, QA and DevOps teams to debug issues and improve CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing software, infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Go or Java and experience with Linux‑based development.
• Proven ability to build automation frameworks and work with REST APIs.
• Solid debugging, troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
