Software Engineer – Cloud

About the role

Google Cloud is looking for a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain large‑scale cloud storage and data services. You will join a fast‑moving team that powers enterprise‑grade solutions for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality product or system development code for cloud‑based services.
• Participate in, or lead, design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate technology choices.
• Review code written by other engineers, providing feedback on style, testability, efficiency, and best practices.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content, updating it as products evolve.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues, analyzing impacts on hardware, network, or service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of back‑end development experience using Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience with storage, databases, file systems, virtualization, or networking.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, experience with large‑scale storage technologies, and mentoring junior engineers.
