Software Engineer 2 – Azure PostgreSQL Team

About the role

Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is building the data platform for the age of AI. As a Software Engineer II on the Azure PostgreSQL team, you will help design, develop, and operate a globally distributed, fully managed PostgreSQL service that powers mission‑critical workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, produce, and deliver software that improves reliability, scalability, performance, security, and efficiency of the cloud service.
• Fix, enhance, and support services in production, including periodic on‑call duties.
• Develop and implement automation solutions for production environments.
• Collaborate with global colleagues to meet requirements for enterprise‑grade services.
• Participate in code reviews, bug/issue triage, and influence design, architecture, and operational standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2–4 years of technical engineering experience writing production‑grade code.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python.
