About the role

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE‑1) for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will join a cross‑disciplinary team in Hyderabad to design, build, and ship large‑scale distributed services that impact millions of customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced engineers to conceive, design, and launch innovative products and services.
• Develop and maintain distributed storage, indexing, and query systems that are scalable, fault‑tolerant, and cost‑effective.
• Create solutions for running predictions on distributed platforms at massive scale.
• Write clean, high‑quality code from broadly defined problems and deliver in an agile environment.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help drive fundamental industry changes.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Experience programming with at least one software language.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field (preferred).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
