Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) – Cross Border Tech

About the role

Amazon's Cross Border Tech team is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) to design, build, and operate platforms that enable global shopping experiences with local language, currency, and payments. You will work on large‑scale, distributed systems that solve complex technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect innovative software solutions that reduce time‑to‑market and support global expansion.
• Develop, test, and maintain high‑performance services for information extraction, large‑scale computing, and web applications.
• Stabilize day‑to‑day operations, improve build and testing pipelines, and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Own metrics and auditing processes to drive reliable business outcomes.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to work on ambiguous, high‑scale problems and deliver results.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Experience with distributed systems and large‑scale computing.
• Knowledge of web application development.
• Understanding of data mining, security, and algorithm design.
