About the role

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will join a cross‑disciplinary team to design, build, and launch innovative products and services that impact millions of customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced engineers to conceive and deliver new features in a fast‑paced environment.
• Design and implement scalable, fault‑tolerant distributed storage, indexing, and query systems.
• Develop solutions to run predictions on large distributed platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable code for broadly defined problems and iterate in an agile workflow.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and help drive industry‑level changes.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Experience programming in at least one software language.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to work effectively in a highly ambiguous, fast‑moving environment.
