Software Development Engineer II – iOS/Android

About the role

Plum is seeking a Software Development Engineer II with strong hands‑on experience in both Android and iOS. You will own features from ideation through release, building native experiences with Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI. The role offers high ownership and the chance to ship polished, production‑grade mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new features on Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) and iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) end‑to‑end.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into high‑quality code.
• Ensure feature quality through architecture decisions, testing, and post‑release stability.
• Write clean, maintainable code following platform best practices and optimize performance across devices.
• Debug complex issues and maintain stability on both platforms.
• Work across Android and iOS codebases, switching comfortably between Kotlin and Swift.
• Contribute to shared tooling and processes that improve team productivity.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Android and iOS ecosystem developments and address technical debt.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of professional mobile development experience with production‑grade apps on both Android and iOS.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Swift.
• Hands‑on experience with Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI.
• Solid understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack architecture components, iOS SDK, and UIKit/SwiftUI lifecycle.
• Experience with dependency injection (Hilt, Dagger 2, environment injection, Resolver).
• Ability to own features from scratch to release without platform‑specific mentorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
