Software Development Engineer II – Android

About the role

Swiggy is seeking a motivated Android Software Development Engineer II to join its mobile engineering team. You will help design, build, and maintain the Android app used by millions of customers for food, grocery, and dine‑in orders.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design scalable, robust architecture.
• Write clean, reusable Kotlin code for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests, and implement automated testing frameworks.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimise the app for speed and resource efficiency.
• Create technical documentation, design specs, API references, and release notes.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers in Agile ceremonies.
• Stay current with Android trends and continuously improve development processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and architecture components (MVVM, LiveData, Room).
• Solid grasp of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling JSON data.
