Software Development Engineer II – Android

About the role

As a Software Development Engineer II – Android you will design and build high‑performance, reliable Android applications and frameworks that power a retail advertising platform. You will work on core capabilities that improve app stability, performance and user experience while collaborating with product, design and other engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain foundational frameworks and shared components for Android.
• Write high‑quality, efficient, tested code for native mobile apps and actively participate in code reviews.
• Define and improve engineering standards and codebase consistency.
• Own scaling of mobile app development across engineering, providing insights to refine processes and tools, and supporting contributors in architecture and code.
• Take ownership of end‑to‑end product quality, from design to maintenance of core app frameworks, ensuring reliability and user satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers and designers.
• Create prototypes of new ideas and explore emerging mobile technologies.
• Optimize app performance and stability; monitor performance metrics to drive improvements.
• Contribute to knowledge‑sharing by writing insightful blogs on mobile innovation.

Required profile

• 1+ years of experience developing native Android applications.
• Proven ability to solve low‑level design problems in mobile development.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture, SDK, and lifecycle components.
• Passion for delivering high‑quality user experiences and improving performance.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
