Software Development Engineer 1

About the role

This entry‑level position supports the design and development of software solutions across the full application stack. You will work on both front‑end user interfaces and back‑end services, helping to evolve IQVIA’s platforms to meet evolving user needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing software applications with general domain knowledge.
• Write, test, and debug code across front‑end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back‑end layers.
• Troubleshoot issues and continuously improve platform functionality.
• Participate in reviews of functional specifications and validation deliverables.
• Support small development projects under guidance, following IQVIA quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Limited or no prior professional experience; ability to learn quickly and work with limited supervision.
• Basic understanding of industry and healthcare‑related quality standards.

Required skills

• Object‑oriented programming languages: Java, PHP, Ruby, or Python.
• Web development fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Familiarity with React and NodeJS (bonus).
• Understanding of relational databases and ability to write basic SQL queries (desired).
• Knowledge of core object‑oriented principles.
