About the role

This 12‑month Software Application Development Apprenticeship is designed for recent graduates who want to launch a career in software engineering. Apprentices work full‑time on‑site with a Google team, spending 20% of their time in a tailored training program and the remaining time on real development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with an assigned Google engineering team to deliver software features.
• Participate in a structured training curriculum covering software development fundamentals.
• Write, test, and debug code in at least one programming language.
• Attend code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Contribute to project documentation and maintain code quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field; not currently enrolled in an academic program.
• Less than one year of professional experience in software application development.
• Demonstrated programming experience in at least one coding language.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing ambiguous tasks.
• Excellent communication, organization, and a positive, self‑motivated attitude.
