Social Expert

About the role

The Social Expert will support Surbana Jurong’s infrastructure projects by delivering comprehensive social assessments, managing stakeholder consultations, and ensuring compliance with the requirements of major financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct social impact assessments, social due diligence, and labor compliance audits for projects in transport, renewable energy, and industrial sectors.
• Develop livelihood restoration frameworks, resettlement and rehabilitation (R&R) plans, and ensure alignment with IFC, World Bank, ADB, JICA guidelines.
• Interpret and apply national and international regulations related to land acquisition.
• Lead stakeholder consultation processes and utilize appropriate engagement tools.
• Prepare documentation and reports for financial institution reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in social assessments for infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of requirements from IFC, World Bank, ADB, JICA, and similar institutions.
• Experience with national and international land acquisition regulations.
• Proven track record in stakeholder consultations and use of related tools.
• Sector experience in transport, renewable energy, industrial or manufacturing projects.

Required skills

• Knowledge of social impact assessment methodologies.
