SmartWatch Officer – Community Safety Patrol

About the role

The SmartWatch Officer provides a high‑visibility vehicle patrol for the City of Rockingham, helping to reduce risk and enhance community safety. Working largely unsupervised, the officer liaises with law‑enforcement agencies and reports suspicious activity to protect residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular vehicle patrols across the city, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
• Observe and report suspicious behaviour, providing clear written reports to relevant authorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with police and other community safety partners.
• Operate independently while maintaining a high level of vigilance and attention to detail.

Required profile

• Previous security‑related experience and a valid Security Officer licence under the WA Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996.
• Current First Aid certification.
• Current C‑class driver’s licence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both verbal and written.
• Sound judgment and decision‑making skills.
