About the role
The Site Maintenance Electrician is the sole electrical professional responsible for the low‑tension (LT) electrical installation at a designated site. Reporting administratively and functionally to the Admin Manager, the incumbent performs hands‑on work while also acting as the competent person in charge of the entire electrical system.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect and troubleshoot the 415 V, 3‑phase, 4‑wire LT distribution system, including main switchgear (SFU/MCCB), distribution boards, busbars and change‑over switches.
- Monitor APFC/capacitor panels, energy meters and phase‑wise load balancing; report abnormal loading and power‑factor deviations.
- Conduct scheduled thermographic inspections of panels, joints and terminations, log hotspots and drive corrective actions.
- Supervise MHE battery charging bays, ensuring charger condition, cable integrity, proper ventilation and adherence to charging windows.
- Maintain uninterrupted power to fire‑safety‑critical systems such as fire alarm panels, hydrant and sprinkler pump starters, jockey pump, emergency lighting and exit signage.
- Operate and maintain DG sets and UPS systems, performing load tests, battery health checks and record‑keeping.
- Maintain earth pits, perform continuity checks and periodic earth‑resistance testing in line with IS 3043.
- Enforce lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, issue and control electrical work permits for contractors.
- Keep the site electrical register up‑to‑date and close observations from audits, insurer inspections and fire‑safety reviews.
- Escalate any condition requiring shutdown, capital repair or vendor intervention to the City Lead, Admin Manager and Capex function.
Required profile
- Valid Electrical Supervisor Certificate of Competency issued by the State Electrical Licensing Board of the posting state.
- Ability to work independently as the sole electrical professional on site.
