Ships Agency Manager - JNPT

About the role

Wilhelmsen Port Services is seeking a Ships Agency Manager for JNPT, based in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. You will lead port and site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable vessel calls.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for port and site operations and ensure service quality according to SOPs.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, negotiate vendor discounts and manage procurement compliance.
• Select, appoint and evaluate vendors and suppliers, and drive new business and sales opportunities.
• Manage pre‑funding, disbursement accounts, and ensure QHSSE compliance.
• Oversee staffing, onboarding, training and performance of port resources.
• Support collection of spot port call receivables and analyse each call to communicate added value to customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime or Business Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Ships Agency Operations.
• Familiarity with local Port Authority regulations, procedures and tariffs.
• Strong multitasking, communication and English language skills (oral and written).
• Mentoring ability, customer relationship expertise and result‑oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in using company systems and digital tools, with good cost awareness.
