Shift Officer – Production

About the role

The Shift Officer – Production supports the execution of manufacturing operations by coordinating the line team, ensuring safety, meeting production targets, and driving quality and efficiency on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all production phases during the assigned shift, monitor KPIs (SQCDME), and ensure optimal use of materials, labor and machinery.
• Lead and motivate the shift team, resolve conflicts, manage absences, conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
• Enforce safety and hygiene standards, deliver safety training, conduct inspections and address quality issues through corrective actions.
• Manage inventory, material flow and resource scheduling while supporting production planning activities.
• Coordinate maintenance requests, identify improvement opportunities and drive implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with the UGP Manager, RdL and other departments, provide performance updates and ensure effective shift handovers.
• Maintain accurate production records, shift logs and contribute to the merit plan for workers.

Required profile

• 4 to 8 years of experience in the food processing industry.
• BE in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of food process operations and shop‑floor manpower handling.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources and drive continuous improvement.
