Shift Leader

About the role

ABB Motion is looking for a Shift Leader to supervise the production shift at its High Power division in Vadodara, India. You will be the point of contact for the shift team, ensuring that production plans are executed efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor shift progress against work plans and ensure optimal use of machinery, equipment and assembly lines.
• Provide regular feedback to management and recommend adjustments for line organization, priority shifts, and critical situations.
• Coordinate staff movements for vacations, illnesses, machine outages or changing priorities.
• Drive focus on volume, efficiency and on‑time delivery.
• Allocate, coordinate and oversee shift orders and work‑plan execution.
• Lead the team in resolving technical, quality and logistic issues during the shift.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Full‑time engineering background in Electrical.
• Proven ability to build effective, high‑performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and alignment skills.

Required skills

• Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Productivity Improvement, Kaizen, 5S.
• Understanding of Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Variable Speed Drive (VSD), Kanban, Poka‑yoke, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
