Shift Engineer – Production & Maintenance

About the role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth production operations during assigned shifts. Working closely with the shift superintendent, the role involves supervising the crew, monitoring equipment, and supporting maintenance activities to meet production targets while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and executing the shift operation plan in line with company policies and regulations.
• Perform equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data analysis using the OMPro tool.
• Conduct routine inspections, coordinate maintenance actions, and manage safe hand‑over/turn‑over (HOTO) of equipment.
• Supervise orderly shutdowns, startups, and preservation of assets during extended outages.
• Identify risks, conduct risk assessments, and lead toolbox talks to prevent emergencies.
• Maintain detailed shift logs and support plant upsets and improvement trials.
• Collaborate with maintenance, raw‑material, and other plant teams to ensure proper job planning and execution.

Required profile

• Experience in shift‑based production environments, preferably in an industrial plant.
• Ability to analyse process parameters and troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and risk‑assessment practices.
• Effective communication skills for coordination across departments and sites.
