Service Operations Support Engineer

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Service Operations Support Engineer in Pune, India, within its Chief Information Security Office. The role acts as a primary liaison between the business, technology and security functions, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and supporting the mitigation of security risk. The contract is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to understand their security requirements in business processes and IT projects, improving overall risk management.
• Carry out risk assessments to identify and prioritise cybersecurity threats to the bank's operations and data, then guide mitigation strategies and share findings with senior stakeholders.
• Help business units develop and implement security policies and procedures aligned with the risk management framework.
• Manage the implementation, testing and monitoring of security controls across IT systems to ensure they are effective.
• Deliver training and sessions to raise cybersecurity awareness and guide safe online practices.
• Handle complex cybersecurity incidents by working with IT teams and response experts, analysing cases and supervising resolution.
• Identify emerging cybersecurity trends, threats and new technologies and advocate the adoption of new security solutions.

Required profile

• In-depth technical knowledge and experience in the assigned area of expertise, with a thorough understanding of its underlying principles.
• Ability to lead and supervise a team, guide professional development, allocate work and coordinate resources; if the role has leadership responsibilities, the four LEAD behaviours (Listen, Energise, Align, Develop) apply.
• For individual contributors, developing technical expertise and acting as an advisor where appropriate.
• Ability to partner with other functions, escalate policy breaches, embed new policies and advise on decisions within the area of expertise.
