About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer I at relx, you will design, build and deliver high‑quality software that drives key business and customer outcomes. You will work independently within a product‑focused team, turning business needs into scalable, secure and maintainable solutions while collaborating closely with product and engineering peers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, multi‑tenant software systems.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical tasks and deliverables.
• Write well‑tested code, conduct code reviews and ensure engineering quality.
• Maintain system reliability, performance and operational readiness.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to shape solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.

Required profile

• Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building complex, globally available distributed systems.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and comfort with ambiguous requirements.
• Effective communicator who can work across cross‑functional, global agile teams.
