Senior Rolling Stock Mechanical Engineer (K3)

About the role

SYSTRA is looking for a Senior Rolling Stock Mechanical Engineer (K3) to lead mechanical system design for metro train projects on Mumbai Metro Lines 5, 7A and 9. The role places you at the heart of a high‑profile public‑transport initiative, ensuring the reliability and safety of rolling stock.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for metro trains, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
• Oversee rolling‑stock projects, managing timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to maximise train reliability and safety.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting mechanical issues and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Ensure all systems meet safety regulations and perform risk assessments.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in rolling‑stock or metro system engineering.
• Prior experience on metro projects is an advantage.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
