Senior Recovery Worker - Intensive

About the role

Join Together for Mental Wellbeing as an Intensive Senior Recovery Worker, supporting adults with complex mental health needs in the Norwich area. You will work within the Norfolk Integrated Housing & Community Support Service (NIHCSS) to empower service users to gain independence and achieve personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide recovery‑focused, community‑based support to adults (18+) with complex mental health needs.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships and help users set, prioritise and achieve goals.
• Assist service users to attend appointments, engage with their community and navigate benefits and education systems.
• Carry out assessments, risk evaluations and determine urgency of needs.
• Collaborate with external professionals, attend multidisciplinary meetings and make onward referrals.
• Line‑manage CSWs and/or volunteers, supporting team resilience and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Promote peer support by valuing lived experience and encouraging mutual assistance among service users.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in mental health or community support, preferably with complex needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a values‑driven team.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Commitment to the principles of hope, empowerment and recovery.
