Senior QA Automation Engineer – Playwright & JavaScript/TypeScript

About the role

Codebase is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own end‑to‑end quality for a payroll platform. You will lead both manual exploratory testing of complex payroll calculations and build a robust automation framework from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual and exploratory testing of payroll workflows, calculations, and business rules.
• Design and develop a Playwright automation framework using JavaScript/TypeScript, including reusable page objects and utilities.
• Automate critical payroll processes and regression scenarios, and troubleshoot flaky tests.
• Execute API testing and validate data consistency with SQL queries.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test reports.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to identify risks and improve product quality.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software QA/testing, covering manual and automation.
• Strong experience testing web‑based applications and building automation frameworks from scratch.
