Senior Python Developer - Banking Systems

About the role

DXC Luxoft is looking for a highly experienced Senior Python Developer to strengthen its engineering team and support the development and maintenance of complex, business-critical systems in the banking domain. The role is remote and based in India, and there is a strong preference for candidates with experience in market risk or related risk analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality Python applications and services.
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of scalable, cloud-based solutions.
• Work with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with quant/risk analysts, DevOps and business stakeholders.
• Take part in requirements analysis, technical design, code reviews and production support.
• Apply analytical and statistical methods where needed, and follow best practices in software engineering, security and performance.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
• 5+ years of banking experience.
• At least one banking project, preferably in market risk or a related risk domain.
• Solid background in mathematics and/or statistics.
• English at C1 advanced level.

Required skills

• Strong Linux environment experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP or equivalent).
• Python analytics libraries such as NumPy, Pandas and SciPy (or equivalents).
• Nice to have: financial risk models, CI/CD pipelines, regulated environments, mentoring experience.
