Senior Procurement Officer

About the role

Wilhelmsen is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to support its global fleet operations. In this hands‑on role you will ensure the timely, cost‑effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services for vessels worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities aligned with vessel schedules, handling requisitions, quotations, purchase orders and invoices.
• Coordinate with Vessel Managers, suppliers and logistics providers to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Mentor and support junior Procurement Officers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Assist sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships and drive cost optimisation.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues and minimise supply‑chain disruptions.
• Maintain compliance with procurement procedures, governance requirements and frame agreements.
• Keep accurate procurement records, KPI data and audit trails.
• Identify process‑improvement and e‑sourcing opportunities in line with the GPS Strategy.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of maritime procurement or purchasing experience with logistics exposure.
• Degree, Diploma, FE Qualification or CIPS qualification.
• Strong understanding of marine procurement, supplier management, logistics and Incoterms.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Results‑oriented, customer‑focused and able to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Experience with procurement systems such as BASSnet or ShipServ.
