Senior Platform Engineer – Java + GCP

About the role

Join Anaqua's platform team as a Senior Platform Engineer, building shared micro‑services and Spring Boot libraries that power all product teams. You will help define company‑wide standards for hosting, security, deployment and monitoring on Google Cloud Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable Spring Boot services and libraries (auth, async tasks, observability, etc.).
• Define and maintain the playbook for service deployment, security, monitoring and rollback.
• Implement multi‑region solutions on GCP using GKE, global load balancing, autoscaling and Helm‑based zero‑downtime deployments.
• Contribute to edge and application security policies, API key/JWT issuance and IAM least‑privilege configurations.
• Participate in architectural decisions around event sourcing, Pub/Sub topology, schema design and service boundaries.
• Lead design reviews and platform RFCs, documenting standards for the broader engineering organization.

Required profile

• Strong production‑grade Java experience with Spring Boot, including transaction management and JVM tuning.
• Hands‑on experience building shared platform libraries or Spring Boot starters used by multiple teams.
• Deep knowledge of GCP services, especially Kubernetes (GKE), Helm, Terraform and multi‑region deployments.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, migrations and JSONB data modeling.
• Experience with event sourcing, asynchronous messaging and Pub/Sub, ensuring idempotency and ordering.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
