Senior Planner – External Operations

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Planner to lead external operations for its medical‑device supply chain. The role focuses on aligning supplier capabilities with sales demand, optimizing inventory, and driving continuous improvement across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead S&OP meetings with external suppliers and translate country demand forecasts into SKU‑level purchase plans.
• Plan and control finished‑goods inventory to meet sales and distribution targets while minimizing excess and stock‑out risk.
• Monitor supplier KPIs, develop cross‑functional mitigation plans, and maintain strong relationships with key partners.
• Develop and present planning scenarios to senior management and act as the planning representative on global projects.
• Lead digital initiatives to improve data management and process efficiency.
• Coordinate shipment schedules, place purchase orders for finished goods and raw materials, and report supply shortages or surpluses.
• Implement inventory policies, standards, and procedures in line with corporate guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in end‑to‑end supply‑chain planning for medical‑device or similar high‑complexity products.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory, production, and sales forecasts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, especially with external partners.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional projects and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
