Senior Payments Executive – Merchant Acquiring

About the role

The Senior Payments Executive will lead Bajaj Finance’s new QR acquiring business in Chennai. Reporting to the Payments strategy team, you will build the operation from the ground up, hiring and managing a field sales force, and driving merchant acquisition, QR code deployment and point‑of‑sale activation.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate a Field Operations Staff (FOS) team and monitor their productivity.
• Acquire new merchants and oversee QR, SB and POS/EDC deployment across the assigned territory.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers in retail and distribution channels.
• Map and manage distribution coverage, ensuring proper channel relationships and sales targets are met.
• Coordinate sales promotions with partners, drive store activation, and ensure rigorous process and controllership.
• Track transaction volumes, GMV and retailer payment reconciliation.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of relevant experience (MBA 1‑4 years or graduate 3‑6 years acceptable).
• Prior exposure to payments, FMCG or telecom prepaid sales is mandatory.
• Experience handling merchant relationships and distribution development, preferably in consumer durables, digital or LSF roles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and high energy for field work.
• Self‑starter with a passion for meeting retailers and driving business growth.
