Senior Officer / Executive – Raw Materials Procurement

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Officer/Executive to manage the procurement of raw materials, primarily for the pharmaceutical sector. The role involves building strong vendor relationships, ensuring timely supply, and supporting cross‑functional teams to maintain production continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with approved vendors and suppliers.
• Obtain and compare quotations to ensure cost‑effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
• Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) according to company procedures.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, QA, QC, and Stores teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
• Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time deliveries.
• Support vendor qualification and periodic supplier performance evaluations.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, purchase reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate with Finance for invoice verification and timely supplier payments.
• Follow up on material shortages, delayed deliveries, and supplier‑related issues.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in raw material procurement/purchase, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical raw material procurement.
• Good vendor coordination and negotiation abilities.
• Strong communication, follow‑up, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Basic working knowledge of SAP.
