Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Enclosures & Panels

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of enclosures, panels, switchboard panels, cable trays, mounting systems and other electro‑mechanical equipment. The role involves creating detailed CAD models, generating manufacturing documentation and ensuring compliance with international and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs of modular enclosures and related equipment using CAD tools.
• Create sheet‑metal part and assembly drawings, installation drawings, fabrication weldment drawings and material submittals.
• Prepare Bill of Materials, weight calculations and cost estimates for each project.
• Select components, specify hardware and manage buy‑out parts.
• Participate in project team meetings, coordinate with suppliers and report status to the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Ensure all designs adhere to ISO, national and Vertiv engineering standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience designing electro‑mechanical equipment and enclosures.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work without direct reports.
• Strong understanding of drawing documentation, ISO standards and mechanical engineering best practices.
