Senior Manager – Director’s Office, Projects & PMO

About the role

The Senior Manager will lead execution of new manufacturing, expansion and greenfield/brownfield projects, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Acting as the Director’s Office representative, the role also monitors the entire project portfolio, ensures accurate reporting and coordinates decisions across finance, operations and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end project execution and governance.
• Manage site teams, contractors and verify progress independently.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, challenge deviations and raise requirements.
• Consolidate a portfolio dashboard and report status to the Director and Steering Committee.
• Track approvals, land, utilities, statutory clearances and management decisions.
• Prepare concise decision notes, exception reports and presentations.
• Ensure commitments from review meetings are closed and support the Director’s oversight.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Metallurgy.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in project management (desired).
• 7–12 years of experience, with at least 4–5 years in industrial, steel, metals, manufacturing, infrastructure or EPC projects.

Required skills

• Develop and maintain consolidated project dashboards.
• Monitor schedules, critical paths, CAPEX utilization and procurement status.
• Review progress reports from project managers, consultants and contractors.
• Identify schedule slippages, cost variances and emerging risks early.
• Prepare review notes, decision memoranda and presentations for senior leadership.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, finance, legal, land and government liaison teams.
• Track statutory approvals, environmental permissions and other external dependencies.
