Senior Manager, Data Management

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Senior Manager for its Data Management team in the Innovation Center in India. The role builds and leads a data-focused team, grows the Commercial Data Management capabilities, brings operational data management work in-house from external vendors and oversees the core commercial data platforms together with the Technology team lead in India.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, onboard and develop talent to meet the Customer Data & Analytics (CDNA) goals, and partner with the Director of Commercial Data Management
• Manage the Commercial Data Platforms and Data Management team in India, partnering with peers across Master Data Management, Data Platforms, Patient Data Management and Data Acquisition & Governance
• Drive prioritization of requests with stakeholder teams such as Secondary Analytics, Forecasting, Incentive Compensation and Field Reporting
• Establish infrastructure governance processes with Technology teams in India and the US, and run Proof of Concept projects on new tools and technologies
• Lead projects implementing Gen AI solutions on the Data Platform, including LLM-based data quality, anomaly detection, unstructured data insights, lineage detection and business rule bots
• Design data products using syndicated data (e.g. IQVIA DDD, XPO, LAAD) and internal data such as CRM, HR, Finance and Digital Media data
• Manage the transition of vendor-delivered data management services into the India innovation center, with knowledge transfer, risk mitigation and documentation
• Set up Agile Product Teams with Technology/IT partners and act as liaison with other CDNA teams

Required profile

• Master's degree with 8 to 10 years of data management experience, or Bachelor's degree with 10 to 14 years
• Proven experience building and managing teams in India, and managing complex transitions
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, excellent English, and comfort in global teams across time zones

Required skills

• Building high-performing data management teams and managing Data Platforms operations across Agile Product teams
• Leading major data transformation projects and Proof of Concept projects
• Familiarity with future-state data architectures, including Gen AI solutions for data products
• Experience partnering with Technology teams on data architecture, modelling and data flow design
• Use of AWS and Databricks, and managing infrastructure costs
• Planning and executing multi-year data management programs with global stakeholders
• Good-to-have: life sciences commercial data domain, syndicated data sets (DDD, XPO, LAAD), multinational experience, data privacy compliance, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
