Senior Maintenance Technician

About the role

Montra Electric is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join its Chennai manufacturing plant. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that production equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting the company’s fast‑growing electric vehicle portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults and execute corrective actions.
• Plan, schedule, and perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Document all maintenance activities and update equipment records.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
• Mentor junior technicians and promote best‑practice safety procedures.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives within the plant.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on plant maintenance experience, preferably in EV, automotive or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals and OEM documentation.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and experience working with cross‑functional teams.
