Senior KDB Developer

About the role

KDB+/Q Developers work closely with researchers and traders to design, implement, test and maintain Axi's service‑oriented kdb+ architecture. The role builds robust, scalable infrastructure that delivers real‑time and historical market data to users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new modules, functionalities and features within the kdb+ ecosystem, contributing to architectural decisions.
• Profile, optimise and tune kdb+ queries and data models to ensure fast execution as data volumes grow.
• Provide Level 2+ production support during trading hours, diagnosing and resolving incidents quickly.
• Own the full software development lifecycle for assigned components, collaborating with researchers, traders and product owners.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in KDB+/Q development and a solid understanding of kdb architecture.
• Experience building and supporting real‑time and historical market‑data systems in a trading or financial environment.
• Proven ability to optimise high‑performance kdb+ applications, analytics and data pipelines.
• Extensive production support experience, including incident management during trading hours.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and managing production systems.
